The Weeknd’s 'Thursday' mixtape has arrived and it's so worth the wait :) DOWNLOAD HERE
Remember Gwen Stefani's ridiculous solo career? I say ridiculous because when I go back and listen to some of the stuff it's kind of absurd. But there were gems there: Hollaback Girl will always be a jam, Cool was a sweet little (lost) love song and Luxurious with it’s Notorious B.I.G sample will always be a favourite of mine. Producer Lapalux has taken Luxurious and reworked it into woozy, sleepy, hypnotic tune. Deconstructed and beautiful <3
—No Church In The Wild ft Frank Ocean
Having listened to Watch The Throne I’m still kind of meh about it. Don’t get me wrong, Jay and Kanye are gods and it’s a good album but not amazing, epic, game-changing or any of the things everyone thought it would be. I think it should have been released way sooner because while hype can be a good thing it also means crazy expectations and WTT does not reach them for me. I will say though that the true winner off this album is definitely Frank Ocean with his two exceptional features. I’m so happy that this is giving him the exposure he deserves. He totally owns the album opener No Church In The Wild and I wouldn’t be surprised if more rappers are clamoring to work with him.
Kristen Stewart channeling a barbarella look with big hair and smoky cat shaped eyes on the cover of W Magazine's fashion issue. I must say I like this softer look on her.
Azari & III are a Canadian duo who are making irresistible dance tunes. There’s something nostalgic and reminiscent about this track. It’s a total throwback to 80s and 90s house music. Huge TUNE <3
—Drive All Night
Pleasantly surprised that British songstress Joss Stone has a new album called LP1. Her last two studio endeavors were disappointing but it seems she’s back to her roots. Her voice is as powerful and raw as always. Drive All Night is classic Joss: bluesy, soulful and soothing <3
Another new Drake tune. I’m really amped to hear Take Care :)
Here’s another member Odd Future member, Domo Genesis' collaboration with Remy Banks. Domo is the weed rapper of the crew and although I can’t relate cos I don’t smoke that doesn’t mean I can’t get high off the music. More Clouds is laid-back and chill. Can’t help but to relax to this.
Haven’t heard any new music from Frank Ocean in a while and for good reason. Having already worked with Beyonce and Nas and featuring not once but twice on the upcoming Jay Z/Kanye collabo album Watch The Throne. He posted Thinking About You on his tumblr a couple of days ago and it is genius. Seriously, his falsetto drives me insane. Aaah-maah-zing! <3
